My thanks to the officers and committee for their invitation to judge bitches at Ayrshire collie club championship show. The hard working, very capable stewards and the exhibitors for the wonderful entry of quality bitches, many thanks. The friendly atmosphere prevailed throughout the show making it a most enjoyable event.

B.I.S was awarded to the beautiful bitch, Salsina Black Lace at Beldones winning a first CC today. R.B.I.S. was the very handsome male Jopium Stole my Heart at Lingwell winning a well deserved second CC today from my co judge Mr. David Thomson. B.V.I.S. the ever youthful male Takhisis High Voltage and B.P.I.S. the lovely bitch Sea Dreamer's Walking on Sunshine. Completing a quartet of fine examples of the breed.

Minor Puppy (4)
1st Ware's- Bella Bimba Della Buca Della Fate at Wassail NAF/TAF, A good start to the day with a promising 6 month well presented sable attending her first show. Lovely head, eye and ear placement which were used well to give a sweet expression. Topline, bend of stifle and overall shape was very pleasing. Moving out well especially for one so young, should have a bright future ahead.
2nd McDevitt- Caronlea Causing Chaos, another promising well presented sable baby of 8 month. Nice head pattern with a sweet eye and correctly placed well used ears. Good body shape and nicely boned legs and tight feet. Moved adequately around the ring.
3rd,Lockyer's- Gataj Jolie of surprises.

Puppy (7)
1st Johnston- Sea Dreamer's Walking on Sunshine (imp.NDL) TAF Stunning nine and a half month sable with a gorgeous head, well filled muzzle, correct stop, eye and ear placement combining to obtain a dreamy expression. Reachy neck, Good bone, level topline, shoulders, bend of stifle, short neat hocks, giving her a lovely driving action on the move. Presented well. BPB. My co judge was in agreement to award her B.P.I.S. Well done. I will watch her career with interest.
2nd Johnston- Riverside Song Hey Jude with Geosamka, and yet another super puppy, it will be interesting to see if these bumper crop of quality babies fulfil their potential with maturity. Well presented eleven and a half month sable with a very good head. Smooth rounded muzzle, correctly placed stop, eyes and ears giving the desired expression. Good spring of rib and depth of chest, well angulated quarters, lovely shape, moved well.

Junior (12-2)
1st Brooker- Lovely Flower Du Bois Des Amazones for Corisian (imp.fra), Well known sable just over 12 months who has enjoyed an illustrious puppy career and it's easy to see why as she possess all the attributes needed. Super head, eye and expression with ears bang on top and used constantly, very attentive to handler. Lovely body shape, reach of neck into well laid shoulders, depth of chest, spring of rib, bend of stifle and moved really well. Presentation was very good as expected from this kennel.
2nd Boyd- Lynmack Edge of Glory at Stregato, I really wished I could have awarded another 1st card here as this lovely 16 month sable was also worthy of a top placing. Most appealing head proportions with length of muzzle, correct stop, flat skull, lovely eye shape and ear carriage. Correctly placed shoulders, reach of neck, level topline and length of back, neat short hocks, moved out well and her golden coat was presented well.

Graduate (7-2)
1st Hawkins & Foy- Salsina Black Lace at Beldones Absolutely gorgeous 2 years tricolour who for me has the wow factor. Beautiful head, totally balanced with length and moulding in foreface, flatness in skull and the eyes were dark and obliquely set giving the most captivating expression, reach of neck, length of back, level topline, depth in chest, shoulder placement, good bone, short neat hocks gave her a driving action and allowed her to power around the ring with an effortless ease. Her black coat shone like a new dollar and was presented so very well. Later in the challenge she pulled out all the stops and I was pleased to award her the CC, her first. Continuing the momentum she later became the star of the show when on the referee's decision was awarded B.I.S. well done.
2nd Lockyer's- Gataj Fairytale Surprise Lovely shapely shaded sable who was beautifully presented. Clean head with a nice eye and ears which she used well. good neck, level topline, turn of stifle and short hocks. This exhibitor has a very clever knack of breeding a defined type of sable bitches. Most lovely coloured shaded and they all excel in movement. This girl was no exception and was really sound on the move viewed from any angle.
3rd Davis- Old Golden Gates Francheska T.A.F.

Post Graduate (14-3)
1st Walker- Julia of Lowlands Green Valley at Starlenga (imp.fra.) Very pretty, rising two and a half year sable with a huge, well presented coat. Good reach of neck, well laid shoulders, depth of chest length of back and well sprung ribs. Her head was lovely to handle, smooth through the cheeks with a nicely rounded muzzle, flat skull, soft well placed eye and good ear carriage. moved out with plenty of exuberance. I was pleased to award her the RES.CC.
2nd Waterhouse- Lynmead Amalie Lady in Lace 3 year sable shown in good well presented coat. Balanced head with a really good size and shape eye, ears bang on top giving a most appealing expression. In good body condition, carrying an ideal amount of weight. Nice shape, short hocks, moving freely around the ring. Nice bitch who I’m sure will be to the fore in the future.
3rd McDevitt- Caronlea Bleu me away

Limit (11-6)
It was a tussle in this class between the first 3 all of whom were more than worthy of the top spot and on another day could very well change. On this occasion it was headed by

1st Brodie- Shanaburn Magical Kisses JW shCM Fabulous 4 year tricolour I have many times admired from the ringside and going over her I was not disappointed in any way. She was very well turned out. Head was of good proportions with nice length to muzzle and when using her ears gave an inquisitive expression. Correct shoulders, depth of chest, well sprung ribs and small neat hocks. Very pleasing on the move. In contention for a higher award.
2nd Margetts - Collingvale Creme Caramel JW Another fabulous bitch,sable, presented in pristine condition as is the norm from this exhibitor. Similar comments apply as to the 2nd in graduate breeder, a defined type of bitches and as this one was also, so very sound on the move. Totally balanced throughout. Head of good proportions with a lovely expression. Great body shape, showing non stop. In total unison with her handler. One who could never be overlooked. I liked her very much.
3rd Shipp's- Prince of Sunlight Naomi at Tremaro (imp.Hun.) Completed a trio of fab bitches.

Open (15-9) I would have been happy to award the six bitches in this class the red card as all were deserving of this.

The pole position went to--Hawkins & Foy Beldones Fit for Fun Nearing 2 year sable of immense quality. Her head is very balanced, soft, sweet eye of the correct size and shape. Smooth rounded muzzle and flat skull. Ears are set and used well, producing a melting expression. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, level topline, bend of stifle, depth of chest. Good bone, neat feet and short hocks. Well presented and really sound on the move. At the moment she is on 2xCC'S and it's easy to see why. For the ultimate award today I would have liked more coat to complete an otherwise perfect picture. When the new coat arrives I’m sure she will gain her well deserved crown.
2nd Hollywood- Zelai Loves Swallows at Amalie (imp.esp) Nearing 4 years, with a beautiful shaded sable coat which was presented well. Head handled well, lovely muzzle, clean skull, correct stop and expressive eyes. Good body shape with level back, lay of shoulders, bend of stifle and short hocks. Moved out soundly fore and aft.
3rd Carr & Colclough-Durham Mistaken Identity at Donohill

Veteran (5) 1st McDevitt-Caronlea Dixie Chick JNR CH. Most appealing tricolour who I have had the pleasure to judge on a few previous occasions. It's hard to believe she is now 9 years as she belies her age. Her head is as good now as in her youth, balanced with lovely moulding, eyes are of the correct size, shape and colour producing a sweet expression. Her body shape was very pleasing with correct shoulders, bend of stifle and well sprung ribs. Coat was presented in top condition and still as sound on the move as ever. What a beauty she is.
2nd Finney-Linamac Leona lovely tricolour of eight and a half years who was presented immaculate. Loved her shape, level topline, length of back, shoulders, depth of chest and well sprung ribs. Head was of pleasing proportions enhanced with a good eye and well set ears giving a lovely expression. Moved out well with ease. Top bitch that i would have easily have given the red card to.
3rd Margetts-Amalie Let me be at Collingvale J.W. Another who could have had a red card, lovely.
